Porn Guardian Signs Hustler, Passes One Million File Mark

10/14/2011

On the eve of the it's one-year anniversary, Porn Guardian, the industry's leading anti-piracy solution, has added LFP Internet Group, LLC (Hustler) to its already impressive client roster. The company also reports that to do date it is has removed over one million illegal files from the internet. Over half of these files were reported in the last 3 months, according to co-owner Dominic Ford.

"We started Porn Guardian as a solution to help my own porn site, DominicFord.com, battle piracy. We had no idea how quickly the company would grow. We now service over 250 brands, and are growing every month," says Ford. "Reaching the one million file mark was a surprise, because we were only at 500,000 files 3 months ago. But with the addition of some larger clients, like Hustler, our monthly take-down rate has grown exponentially."

Co-Owner Peter Phinney adds, "We are extremely proud to welcome the folks at LFP Internet Group into the Porn Guardian family. The Hustler brand is an institution, and we are honored they are trusting us to help them in the war against piracy."

Jean-Marie Kesch, Director of Product and Business Development for LFP Internet Group, LLC says, "Working with Porn Guardian has been a pleasure. The team at PG works tirelessly to find our content and get it taken down from illegal sites. We are amazed at how many files they have found in the 2 months since we signed with them. Plus, their reporting and analytics are unmatched in the industry. It's remarkable what we are learning about our content, and about piracy."

Porn Guardian is an end-to-end anti-piracy service. Not just "another DMCA take down" agency, the company has a wholly separate service: digital fingerprinting. This proprietary technology digitally signs each downloaded movie with the User ID (and other information) of the account used to download the movie or photo. When the company finds a client's file being illegally traded, they can easily trace that file back to the original downloader on the client's site.

"This technology works for videos in several formats, photos and photo archives. By finding the 'primary' pirates, we are able to stop piracy where it starts: on our clients' sites," says Ford. "It is possible to stop piracy, and it starts with securing your own site against hackers and closing down accounts used for piracy." The addition of LFP Internet Group adds to the company's growing portfolio of both straight, transgendered and gay content producers, including Pink Visual, Corbin Fisher, Titan, Grooby, Randy Blue, Kink and many more.

Phinney adds, "As we approach our second year in business, we are not resting on our laurels. Every month we add new client reports, new file discovery methods, and new functionality to our system. Our best-in-class Evidence Packages have been instrumental in several current court cases."

The company offers a free "do-it-yourself" version of its platform, as well as its premiere fully staffed service.

Porn Guardian’s IndustryGuardian Program Shuts Down Another Major Illegal Blog

February 18, 2011

IndustryGuardian, the community service program offered by anti-piracy company Porn Guardian, has struck again. IndustryGuardian is a public service that pro-actively seeks to thwart illegal file trading on behalf of the entire adult community.

This morning, a prolific piracy blogger awoke to find that his sophisticated file sharing blog had been completely dismantled by Porn Guardian’s IndustryGuardian program. Overnight, the blogger’s file sharing hosts agreed to permanently close his affiliate accounts and block access to all of his uploaded files in order to maintain their “Safe Harbor” status under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. Porn Guardian had been monitoring the blog’s activities for several months. 36 hours ago, the anti-piracy company took action as a part of its proactive anti-piracy stance.

Through its IndustryGuardian initiative, Porn Guardian has dismantled several similar blogs in recent weeks.

“Porn Guardian is seeking support from all content producers to be part of our IndustryGuardian program,” said Porn Guardian partner Peter Phinney. “We’re offering an opportunity for the industry to come together and present a united anti-piracy front. The cost of participation is minimal, and the outcomes are dramatic.”

Participation in the IndustryGuardian program costs only $150 a year and ensures that all members are included in the pro-active raids provided by the company. Members also receive quarterly updates and vital anti-piracy information that will help them combat piracy on their own sites.

Porn Guardian is a Gold Sponsor of this year’s Phoenix Forum, and will be unveiling complete details of the program at the forum. “The power we gain by working together to fight piracy is necessary if we want to have a chance of winning this war,” says partner Dominic Ford.

Porn Guardian is the leading anti-piracy service for the adult industry. It was chosen by the Free Speech Coalition to become part of its Anti Piracy program (APAP), and nominated for an XBIZ Award this year for “Most Innovative Web Product.” It is the first anti-piracy system ever to be nominated for an XBIZ Award.

Porn Guardian clients receive 24/7 piracy protection, a state-of-the-art reporting interface, evidence gathering and automatic enrollment in the IndustryGuardian initiative.

FSC APAP Adds Porn Guardian to its Team

Posted Feb 03rd, 2011 02:45 PM
CANOGA PARK, Calif.—FSC has partnered with Porn-Guardian to expand services provided in its Anti-Piracy Action Program (APAP).

“From the beginning, FSC’s Anti-Piracy Action Program has concentrated on providing a comprehensive plan that is user-friendly and adaptive to the needs of the content provider. In 2010, we successfully focused on a strategy that targeted tube sites,” FSC Executive Director Diane Duke. “We have had incredible success in that endeavor and now we are increasing our attack on piracy to include P2P infringements.”

In 2010, APAP developed and implemented a system that effectively deals with tube sites. In 2011, FSC will add the services of Porn Guardian in order to expand the types of piracy the program addresses.

Porn Guardian combines technology and human review to identify and remove infringement from file-trading locations, including cyberlockers such as Rapidshare, FileMonster, MegaUpload and many others; link-trading sites such as Yahoo groups, user groups, linking sites and blogs; and P2P environments such as BitTorrent and eDonkey.

"We are thrilled by the expanded suite of services this partnership will provide to clients,” Porn Guardian’s Peter Phinney said. “With Porn Guardian’s expertise in peer-to-peer sharing and cyberlocker up-and-downloads, bundled with APAP's extraordinarily effective solution to the unique problem of tube sites, clients now are protected against every major current piracy problem and also positioned to deal with emerging technologies we see evolving on the horizon."

Representatives from both FSC APAP and Porn Guardian will attend the upcoming Content Protection Retreat hosted by Pink Visual, February 6-7 at the Sofitel Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif.

“We are thrilled to be working with Porn Guardian their services and approach will work well with the program we have already established,” Duke added.

Porn Guardian’s Dominic Ford said, "Porn Guardian is the industry's best defense against cyberlockers, and APAP is the best solution for combating tube sites. Combined, FSC now has a total solution for its members. We are thrilled to be working with the Free Speech Coalition and look forward to helping the industry in this fight against piracy."

Porn Guardian: “On the Offensive”

The industry’s premier anti-piracy watchdog consultancy announced that with the turn of the New Year, it's turning up the heat in its war on content theft. The company has initiated a series of targeted, coordinated, preemptive strikes on piracy blogs and other trading outlets it has identified as particularly pernicious and stubbornly unresponsive to appropriate notification under the digital millennium copyright act (know as the DMCA.) “We use existing laws, domestic and international, to enlighten the piracy community. We let the thieves know that our clients are no longer willing to wait for their content to appear so it can be reported and deleted. We are going after them where it hurts – in their wallets” said Porn Guardian founding partner Peter Phinney. The company is systematically using Terms Of Service published by filesharing hosts to report “Repeat Offenders” and have their payment accounts closed. “If there’s no money to be made in peddling illegally procured content, the work involved in “sharing” begins to look like a lot of useless effort to most bloggers.”

By reminding the cyber lockers (file sharing host companies) of their obligations under the “Safe Harbor Provision” of the DMCA, Porn Guardian has convinced several hosts to look into incidents of multiple infringements, and actually close down remuneration accounts for members who repeatedly break the law. Bloggers who have built elaborate sites providing access to hundreds and hundreds of illegal files sometimes make as much as $4 - $5,000 US a month in downloading fees and premium account sales. And suddenly one morning they log in to find that their payment account has been closed, they have been permanently banned from the service and all of their existing links are dead.

“Our outreach benefits the industry as a whole,” notes Porn Guardian founding partner Dominic Ford, who also produces exclusive adult content and maintains his own, self-titled membership site, DominicFord.com. “That’s why we’ve initiated these preemptive moves – because when we manage to close an active trading blog down, all content producers benefit, not just our clients.” This ‘Doctrine of Preemption’ has not gone unnoticed. XBiz recently announced Porn Guardian has been nominated as ‘Most Innovative New Web Product of 2011.’ Recipients will be announced at the awards event on February 9th in Los Angeles.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PORN GUARDIAN TAKES DOWN MAJOR BLOGS, FIRST ANTI-PIRACY COMPANY TO GET XBIZ "Innovative Web Product of the Year" NOMINATION

New York, NY --PornGuardian.com, the industry's leading anti-piracy service, is the first of its kind to be nominated for the XBIZ "Innovative Web Product of the Year" award. This not only marks a first for the company, but also a first in the industry. In only 4 short months, Porn Guardian has signed the biggest names in the adult industry and become a leader in the community's fight against Internet Piracy. Through its IndustryProtection Initiative, Porn Guardian has successfully shut down two major piracy blogs that were actively promoting illegal file sharing.

Beyond making sure its clients' content is scrubbed from illegal trading sites, Porn Guardian is dedicated to helping the adult industry at large. To this end, the company waged war on several popular blogs over the last month. Some are aware that PornGuardian is behind their fleecing, and some aren't. Already, two of these blogs have had to close their doors when they lost access to "their content." Partner Dominic Ford says, "These blogs will surely rebuild, but it's much easier for us (and for the industry at large) to remove new content, when there is no old content still on offer. Some sites have thousands of pages of illegal content that has been up for years. Doing a clean sweep makes it a lot easier to patrol them for new postings. We have been given permission by companies who are not our clients to act on their behalf for these fleecings. In many cases, these companies are already being protected by another anti-piracy service, but we are finding some of their files that have been live for months or even longer. It is in the best interest of the entire adult industry that these trading sites are brought to their knees."

Recognizing the initiative Porn Guardian is taking in leading it's space and the industry at large, XBIZ has nominated Porn Guardian for "Innovative Web Product of the Year." This marks the first time an anti-piracy company has been nominated. Partner Peter Phinney adds, "We were overjoyed when we heard the news. We offer the industry's best reporting and client interface, we're very proud of what we do and we're deeply honored that XBiz saw fit to nominate us in our first year of operation."

Early next year, Porn Guardian will be releasing a new suite of tools that will allow content publishers to actually know what members are pirating their content. Says Ford, "We are beta testing this service currently, and have already caught several of the pirates who have been uploading material for over a year from 2 of our clients. One of our clients had no content illegally traded last week because they have shut down the people who were pirating their content. This was the first time in two years their new scene couldn't be found somewhere on the internet for free."
